Every year at Austin Kink Weekend, title contests give the leather and kink community something to rally around — not just a crown, but a commitment. Titleholders carry the values of their communities forward, represent Texas on national and international stages, and spend their reign showing up for the people who voted them in.
The Texas Title Family has been doing that since 1997.
A Legacy Built on the Stage
The Mr. Texas Leather contest launched in Dallas in 1997, and the title's track record speaks for itself. Two Mr. Texas Leather titleholders have gone on to win International Mister Leather: Stephen Weber in 2002, and Jeffrey Payne in 2009.
Ms. Texas Leather joined the family in 2012 — and made an immediate statement. Synn took the title and became International Ms. Leather in the same year. Most recently, The Goddess Indigo, Ms. Texas Leather 2023, brought that legacy full circle by being named International Ms. Leather 2024.
Since 2023, Austin Kink Weekend has had the honor of stewardship over the Texas Title Family. The family has since grown to include representation at International Mister Leather, International Ms. Leather, International Ms. Leather Bootblack, and International Pet and Trainer.
What's New in 2026
AKW has been listening. This year, we're proud to introduce the Texas Rubber Ambassador — the first state-level title contest for rubber enthusiasts in Texas. The titleholder will represent the Lone Star State at MIR in 2027. It's a genuine first, and we can't wait to see who steps up.

Is This for You?
If you've been part of this community — playing, learning, mentoring, building — a title contest is a way to formalize that investment and take it further. You don't have to be the loudest person in the room. You have to be ready to show up, speak honestly about who you are and what you value, and represent something larger than yourself for the year ahead.
That's what the Texas Title Family has always been about.
