Texas Rubber Ambassador

The first state-level rubber title in Texas.

What the title is for

Rubber has its own aesthetic, its own craft, and its own community, and until this contest existed Texas had no state-level title that spoke for any of it. The Ambassador is exactly what the name says: the person who carries Texas rubber into rooms where the rest of the world is watching.

This is a young title. It debuted at Austin Kink Weekend in 2026, which means whoever takes it is still helping decide what it means. That is a real opportunity and it is also real work. There is no long lineage to lean on yet.

How the scoring works

Six categories, 650 points, and Olympic Scoring: in each category the highest and lowest judge scores are dropped before the rest are counted. Judges are active members of the leather and LGBTQ+ community.

It is the smallest points total in the Texas Title Family, and the shape is worth reading. The Judges' Interview alone is 200 points, close to a third of everything available, and it happens in a private room. Add Lifestyle Image, scored across the whole weekend, and half the contest is decided away from the stage.

The stage rounds are where rubber gets to be rubber. They are not where the title is won.

The six scored categories

  • Judges' Interview, 200 points
A private 15-minute sit-down. Your history, your community involvement, what you know about leather and rubber culture, and what you would do with the title. Judges are weighing character, charisma, communication, composure, and intellect. Your Bar Wear and lifestyle image are scored here too.
  • Pop Question, 100 points
A question drawn at random on stage, 60 seconds to answer. It might be about rubber, it might be pop culture, it might be the news. Judges are watching confidence and how you work a room, not whether you were right.
  • Rubber Image, 100 points
Your on-stage introduction, in rubber. A visual category: how you present as a rubberist, the intention behind the look, and the confidence you carry it with.
  • Fantasy, 100 points
Up to three minutes on stage to perform your rubber fantasy. Judges score creativity and whether you convey what makes the fetish what it is. You may bring one other person and pre-approved props. Bring your own soundtrack or use the mic.
  • Lifestyle Image, 100 points
Scored across the entire weekend. How you engage with attendees, guests, and volunteers. This is not a performance; it is how you show up when the stage lights are off.
  • Application, 50 points
Your written application, scored for thoughtfulness and thoroughness.

Where the winner goes

The Texas Rubber Ambassador represents Texas at Mr. International Rubber, in the November following step-down. For the 2027 titleholder that is MIR 2028.
Beyond that the commitment is the same as the rest of the family: six public appearances across Texas at rubber, leather, fetish, or LGBTQ+ events, at least one fundraiser, and showing up for the next Austin Kink Weekend and the contest that gave you the title. Eligibility and the full title-year commitment are on the Contests page.
