The Texas Rubber Ambassador is the first state-level rubber title in Texas — and it launches at AKW 2026. This contest recognizes those who live and breathe rubber culture: the aesthetic, the craft, the community built around it. The winner represents Texas at the International Rubber contest as our state's ambassador to the global rubber community.
What the Contest Looks Like
The Texas Rubber Ambassador contest is scored across six categories, totaling 650 possible points. Judges are active members of the leather and LGBTQ+ community, and the contest uses Olympic Scoring — the highest and lowest judge scores in each category are dropped.
- Judges' Interview — 200 points. A private, 15-minute sit-down with the judging panel. Questions cover your personal history, community involvement, knowledge of leather and rubber culture, and your vision for the title. Judges evaluate character, charisma, communication, composure, and intellect. You'll also be scored on your Bar Wear/Lifestyle Image attire during the interview.
- Pop Question — 100 points. A live, on-stage moment. You'll draw a random question — rubber, pop culture, current events — and have 60 seconds to answer. Judges are watching confidence and crowd interaction, not just correctness. This is your chance to win the room with personality.
- Rubber Image — 100 points. Your on-stage introduction in rubber. This is a visual category: how you present yourself as a rubberist, the intention behind your look, and the confidence you carry it with.
- Fantasy — 100 points. Up to three minutes on stage to perform your rubber fantasy. Judges score creativity and your ability to convey the sensual nature of the rubber fetish. You may bring one additional person and pre-approved props. Bring your own soundtrack or use the mic.
- Lifestyle Image — 100 points. Scored throughout the entire weekend. Judges observe how you engage with attendees, guests, and volunteers across AKW events. This isn't a performance — it's how you show up when the stage lights are off.
- Application — 50 points. Your written application is scored for thoughtfulness and thoroughness.
